A TEENAGER was seriously hurt after flipping his car and crashing into a hedge near a popular garden centre. 

The incident happened shortly before midnight on May 1 on Bromyard Road, Cotheridge, Worcester. 

The road was closed for a short time whilst a fire and rescue crew assisted with a fuel spill following the recovery of the vehicle. 

Police, ambulance and the fire service all attended.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We were called to a single vehicle RTC just before midnight last night (Wednesday) where a car was found on its roof in a hedge on the Bromyard Road, Cotheridge near to Laylocks Garden Centre.

"The driver was taken to hospital by ambulance and the road was temporarily closed while the vehicle was recovered, and a fuel spill was cleared by fire service."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of an RTC on Bromyard Road near Cotheridge, Worcester at 11.46pm.

"An ambulance arrived on scene in five minutes to find one car had come off the road and ended up on its roof.

"The driver, a teenage male, was already out of the vehicle and was treated by ambulance staff for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment."
