A UNIQUE shop where customers can watch their jewellery be made in-store will soon open in Worcester.

Gabrielle’s Jewellery will be offering a different way to purchase jewellery in the city by combining a shop front and a workshop in one space.

Business partners Peter Francis and Kevin Fletcher will open their concept in The Shambles this Saturday (May 4) and are excited to meet everyone.

Mr Francis, who had been in the jewellery industry for over 50 years, said: "We are a small two-man company, and it will be good to open in Worcester.

"We are a little different from a lot of jewellery shops and make our jewellery.

"You can see us working on items through the shop window.

"We work in the shop and people can see us working on the jewellery 24/7.

"We find it works really well, and people can relate to the products they buy and see that it doesn't go anywhere but in a jewellery shop.

"It is a different concept."

The team, which consists of two other staff members, Melissa Loveridge and Oliver Cornelius, will not only make the items customers see in the shop in front of them but also one-off pieces.

Mr Francis said the team will be ready to sit for hours with their customers to help design the best custom-made ring, which will then be made in the same room.

The staff would have made around 90 per cent of the jewellery in the store.

"It feels great to see the business potential," Mr Francis added.

"We received many comments from people who said they could not wait to see what we do.

"We are quite excited."

The business's soft launch will take place this Saturday, and the team will decorate the store with balloons.

There will also be glasses of wine at the ready.

Gabrielle’s Jewellery has taken over the former Vodafone store next to Marks and Spencer.
