Bunglaow go-ahead for mobile home couple

8:01pm Monday 12th May 2008

A COUPLE, who live in a mobile home on land in a Worcestershire village they have farmed for 25 years, have been told they can build a small bungalow so they can live more comfortably.

Members of Malvern Hills District Council northern area development control committee approved the proposal for the permanent home at The Gilberts, Shrawley, even though it was recommended for refusal by planning officers. Shrawley Parish Council and a neighbour had backed the scheme.

The new bungalow involves taking down a pole barn, which would be replaced, and the mobile home will also be removed.

An agricultural consultant, who assessed the proposed development on the council's behalf, had recommended refusal.
