TODAY will mark the end of an era for one glamorous girl as she prepares to hand over her Miss Worcester crown to another worthy winner.
Jodi Edwards said she has had "the best year of my life" representing the Faithful City at home and abroad.
During her year-long reign, 19-year-old Miss Edwards came fourth in Miss England, represented Worcester in Taiwan, worked for the National Lottery, received numerous modelling jobs, took part in charity fashion shows and opened fetes.
"It has been a jam-packed year," she said. "The best bit was probably going to Taiwan, to be honest.
"I really loved representing Worcester over there."
During her time in the Far East, Miss Edwards, of Fernhill Heath, Worcester, appeared on a television chat show and became the face of a new cosmetic range.
"Winning Miss Worcester has given me so many opportunities to go forward," she said.
"I have so many contacts now from the people I have met throughout the year."
It is a far cry from this day one year ago, though, when Miss Edwards stopped revising for her A-levels to compete in the final at Worcester Racecourse.
"I didn't know what to expect and I didn't have very high expectations," she said.
"I was a little nervous about the talking so it was an absolute bonus when I won."
Today 10 girls will be at Pitchcroft to take part in the afternoon's race presentations before they have to demonstrate a talent on stage and answer questions in front of a panel of special judges.
Offering her advice, Miss Edwards said: "They should just be themselves and not panic because everyone else is in the same position.
"They should just enjoy the day for what it is. I definitely envy the girl that wins because she is going to have the most amazing year ahead of her."
