THESE dramatic photographs show lightning striking over Worcester rooftops during a spectacular thunderstorm.

The storm, triggered by the heat and humidity, broke over the city around 9pm on Friday. The photograph was taken by Worcester News reader Andy Ball from the Diglis area of Worcester.

He said: "It was a very powerful storm - I haven't seen such power in years and it was a treat to watch even if it did get a little hairy as it moved right over."
