Celebrate with the congregation

PARISHIONERS are gearing-up for their church's centenary celebrations with an appeal for items from the past 100 years of worship.

The congregation of St Martin's Church in London Road, Worcester, is preparing to celebrate 100 years of community and fellowship at their church.

In preparation for the landmark anniversary, to be celebrated from 2009 until 2011, they are holding a coffee morning and plant sale to raise money for Christian Aid, tomorrow from 10am until 2pm.

People are being asked to bring their own church memorabilia so the items can be photographed and recorded.

Rev Sheila Rosenthal, parish curate, said: "It's a chance for people to meet up with old friends and bring in their baptism certificate or bible prize - anything at all that they may have in connection with St. Martin's.

"We want people to come in for a chat and a coffee and talk about the fun that they had at the church."
