Wychavon people enjoy good life

PEOPLE living in Wychavon are among those enjoying the best quality of life in rural Britain according to a survey.

The area came top in the West Midlands and 32nd out of 50 in a study which looked at life expectancy, average incomes, level of educational performance and health. Wychavon's nearest rival in the two counties was Herefordshire which was ranked at 45 in the Halifax Rural Areas Quality of Life Survey released this week.

Paul Middlebrough, leader of Wychavon District Council said: "We're delighted with the findings of this study.

"We do all we can to ensure that Wychavon is a really great place to live by keeping our services excellent and council tax low. But making Wychavon a really great place to live is best achieved by everyone working together from the Primary Care Trust to the county council."

"I think we're also lucky enough to benefit from living in one of the most beautiful parts of the world."

Chiltern in Bedfordshire, topped the survey.
