EXCITEMENT is mounting as preparations for a massive motor show in Worcester gather pace.

Car dealers, driving schools and valets are gearing up for Worcester Motor Show on Saturday, May 17 - set to be bigger than last year's inaugural event. Twelve local dealerships will display more than 40 cars along the High Street, CrownGate and Cathedral Plaza shopping centres.

Twenty manufacturers will showcase a range of new models at the event organised in conjunction with tourism organisation VisitWorcester.

Jeremy Shackleton, director of Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists, sponsoring the motor show, said: "As proud sponsors of this year's event, Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists is looking forward to welcoming everyone to the event."

Dealerships showing their cars at the event, which is free to enter and takes place between 9am and 5pm, include: Bicknells Vauxhall; Brooklyn Ford; Brooklyn Toyota; City & County Suzuki and Chrysler; Edwards Mitsubishi, Mazda, Daihatsu and Kia; Hatfields Jaguar Worcester; Hylton Renault and Nissan; Mercedes-Benz of Worcester; MG Sports & Racing Europe Ltd; Robert Stern BMW; Startin Honda; Startin Skoda, Subaru and Isuzu.

Other firms who will be showing their services will be valet companies Auto Pro Valeting Ltd and Diamond Detailing, while drivers will also be able to discuss their driving skills with BSM Driving School, plus gain further experience with Worcestershire Group of Advanced Motorists.
